CRICKET

Cheshunt Cricket Club has its own website click here for a link

The club has two teams in the Hertfordshire Cricket League where games are played on Saturdays. The 1st team is currently in Division 8 and the second team in Division 10. There is also a Sunday team which plays friendlies, mainly at home. This is usually made up from second team players plus others who are unavailable to play on Saturdays.

There is a thriving colts section. Net practice for colts is on a Tuesday evening at 6pm at the club, followed by the seniors at 7.30pm. Winter nets are usually arranged.

Older colts are also encouraged to play in the second team on Saturdays as well as in the Sunday side.

Training is usually from the end of April through to at least the last weekend in August. Colts also play matches in a league (currently only at under 15) and friendly matches are arranged for all age groups.

The club abides by the ECB Directive on Child Welfare and all adult club members are required to sign a criminal records self declaration form every season. In addition a full criminal record check is carried out on team captains and vice captains and anyone who works with the colts.

Subscriptions are currently £100 per annum for adults; £50 for students and unemployed members; £35 for under 15s; £20 for social members.

In addition to the above, adults pay £6 per match and juniors £3 per match to cover match day fees (teas etc). Colts do not pay any additional fees for matches.

The club holds occasional social events such as quiz nights, of which we hold two each year.
